An FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container), also known as a jumbo bag, bulk bag, or super sack, is an industrial container made of woven polypropylene. Designed for handling and transporting dry, flowable materials (e.g., sand, fertilizer, and plastic granules), standard bags measure roughly 90 to 120 cm wide and hold up to 1,000 kg to 1,500 kg of material.
Key Design & Specification Components
Construction Styles: Common shapes include 4-Panel (four stitched fabric pieces), U-Panel (one continuous U-shaped piece with side panels), and Circular (seamless woven tubing). Baffle bags include internal panels to help the bag retain a perfect square shape when full.
Safe Working Load (SWL): Indicates the rated weight capacity. Industry standards usually apply a 5:1 safety ratio, meaning a 1,000 kg bag is tested to hold 5,000 kg before failing.
Tops & Bottoms: Tops can be open, include a flat bottom/top spout for controlled filling, or have a duffle/skirt top that ties shut. Bottoms can be flat or feature discharge spouts to easily empty the contents.
Lifting Loops: Standard designs feature heavy-duty straps sewn into all four corners for easy lifting via a forklift crane.
